This section of the website is dedicated to helping you to find information about fisheries, fishing clubs and events near us! From stretches of the river trent to commercial match fisheries, carp syndicates and day ticket waters.
We're often asked where to fish and who to contact so hopefully this will provide a useful reference for both local anglers and people travelling to the area in search of some quality fishing! For further information please feel free to ask us in store or contact the fishery directly using the contact details below. We will be adding to these all the time and if you have a suggestion of a fishery to add to this page, please let us know.
Local Clubs & Societies
The Society has over 14 miles on the river Trent, over 2 miles of tidal Trent aswell as 2 miles of River Derwent - near Matlock. They have the only fishing on the River Greet. They have over 90 acres of coarse fishing, comprising of 6 different lakes. Including a seven acre trout lake holding Rainbows, Browns, Blues and Tiger Trout.

The Nottingham Anglers Association are one of the largest Fishing Clubs in the Midlands with a membership of just over 2400 anglers. They offer members a wide variety of angling on Rivers, Canals, Gravel Pits, Lakes and Ponds. Some of their waters are ideally suited to Anglers with disabilities with good access and parking close to very flat banks and purpose built wheelchair friendly platforms.
The Association also caters for match anglers with a summer evening series on Mondays and Wednesdays and a Disabled and Over 60’s Match every Thursday of the year. They also have various club matches throughout the season. With very reasonable membership fees (see membership section) and fishing to suit every ability.
With Some of the finest river fishing in and around Nottingham, Joining the Nottingham Federation is a must for both the pleasure and match angler alike.
Formally known as Scunthorpe Pisces Angling Club and Scunthorpe and District Angling Association, once run by Scunthorpe police, this is now a club open to all anglers. They have some fantastic stretches of both the tidal and non tidal Trent as well as many miles of canal, other rivers and several still waters. This is a club with waters all around the east midlands and further afield.
Day Ticket Carp / Specimen Fisheries
Nestled in the heart of the East Midlands countryside and just a few minutes from the A1 is this stunning 18 acre, spring fed specimen lake. Surrounded by trees and boasting an incredible head of specimen carp to 40lb plus, the lake also benefits from excellent facilities including toilets, showers and kitchen area which is free to use for anyone fishing the lakes. with 18 swims available, you'll need to book first which you can do online or by calling the fishery. There is a peg specifically designed for disabled access suitable for for both cars and wheelchairs. The lake also holds some incredible pike, perch and catfish which can be targeted during the colder months. There is also a smaller lake on site which holds fish to 30lbs and is available to fish on request. The smaller lake offers anglers a great chance to get a bend in the rod, even during the winter!

Situated just next to the A1, the pits offers anglers of all levels the chance to fish a water suited to their skill and ability. With 6 gravel pits ranging from the smallest (pit 1) right up to the huge (Pit 6), there is a lot of water to go at. With carp to 40lb and specimens to be found in each pit, a walk around to try and find some fish is always a worthwhile exercise. At just £15 for 24 hours, the pits is excellent value for money. A1 Pits also offers anglers the option of fishing their stretch of the River Trent where double figure barbel and carp are common place!

Trent View Fishery is a 30 acre specimen carp fishery located on an old gravel pit just outside Hoveringham village between Nottingham and Newark, home to 2000 hand-picked carp. Located at Norton Disney, 10 minutes from Newark town centre and just off the A46, Embryo lakes is the latest development from Korda Developments owner, Danny Fairbrass. Danny set out to create new fisheries for people to enjoy and to protect the sport from an ever increasing threat of predation. Currently, there are two lakes open to fish. The first is a 27 acre gravel pit named Billy's Lake which is stocked with over 1100 stunning carp. The second is a 16 acre pit with fish to 30lb called Pettitt's Lake. With the backing, planning and experience of Korda behind the Embro complex, we're confident that it will become one of the UK's top day ticket waters.

Barnstone lakes consists of a Day ticket lake and a Syndicate lake. The lakes are situated in the heart of the Belvoir countryside in Nottinghamshire. Close to the A46 and A52. The Day ticket lake is an 8 acre clay pit stocked with carp to 35lb that are known fish. There are some very special fish in this lake. The vast majority of fish are 'original' British stock from the late 80's. Visit the cabin when you arrive on site to pay and choose your swim.
